Most gardener's are much healthier, physical-wise and maybe mentally too.

They not only eat better than the general population as a whole, but gardening provides a lot of exercise that gardeners normally wouldn't get if they didn't have their gardens to tend to. And think of all the money they save. No real need for gym memberships when you're lugging around a wheelbarrow most of the year. And all of the shoveling and hoeing. Wears me out just thinking about all of it.

And have you seen the prices of food lately? Almost makes me want to try growing all of my own food from here on out. I don't know if I could handle that much gardening though, but at least it sounds like a challenge. OK, if you want to try growing everything your family eats you're probably going to need some gardening tips to help you out along the way. At least try to make your food gardening adventure fun. Enjoy your time in the garden and maybe it will help restore some sanity to this insane world. Until next time....

Growing Tomatoes in Your Greenhouse

You can grow tomatoes in your greenhouse in the winter time, but your heating bill may be more than you can afford. To run a greenhouse efficiently during winter time you will need to keep the greenhouse warm and that could become very expensive. Add the electricity bill for increased lighting arrangements your tomatoes have to have to set fruit and you've just produced yourself some relatively expensive tomatoes.

Learn all about how to build a backyard greenhouse and what it takes to run one.

I'm all for drawing out the growth season as long as imaginable, but occasionally you just need to wait for the winter to do its thing and so get geared up for spring to get your tomatoes growing.

Your most beneficial bet on exploiting a greenhouse to raise tomato plants is to employ the greenhouse in early spring for beginning your tomatoes. You are able to have fresh tomatoes a calendar month or 2 earlier than your friends & neighbors by starting your tomatoes in a greenhouse and so establishing them out in the garden as soon as warm weather conditions comes back to your location.
